RadioShack store closes in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Cape Fear has one fewer RadioShack location.

WWAY stopped by the RadioShack in University Centre off of College Road Tuesday night and found it closed. The windows are covered with paper inside, and there are signs directing you to its Monkey Junction, Market Street and Independence Mall locations.

Numerous national media outlets reported Tuesday that RadioShack is on the verge of bankruptcy, and some of its store leases might be bought by other companies.

WWAY could not get a hold of anyone with the store or company for further explanation Tuesday night.
