Tips lead to three drug arrests

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Three people were arrested on drug charges in Brunswick County.

Agents with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit, along with the Special Operations Unit, have arrested three from the Supply area on multiple drug charges.

Jonathan Velez, 20, is charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver heroin, two counts of trafficking heroin, conspiring to traffic heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Velez is currently being detained in the Brunswick County Detention Facility under a $500,000 bond.

Kristopher Daniel Schultz, 28, of Dockside Drive, SW, is charged with two counts of trafficking heroin, PWIMSD heroin, conspiring to traffic heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is also being held in the Brunswick County Detention Facility under a $200,000 bond.

Tariah Mona Darling, 18, of Vinton Street, is charged with two counts of trafficking heroin, PWIMSD heroin, conspiring to traffic heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. She is currently being detained in the Brunswick County Detention Facility under a $40,000 bond.

Tips and complaints from the community led to a brief investigation. The three were taken into custody following a traffic stop on Thursday evening.
