3 charged after investigators intercept drug package

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office says three people are facing heroin trafficking charges after investigators intercepted a package of more than 250 grams of narcotics.

Deputies say Sean Shaughnessy, 46, David Black, 55, and Angela Robinson, 22, are all facing charges including trafficking and conspiracy; deputies say Shaughnessy is also charged with child abuse because they say he had his toddler in his arms when he accepted the package.

Deputies say the investigation also involved I.C.E. and the United States Department of Homeland Security and the controlled delivery happened on March 26. They say the packaged was shipped and delivered to a hotel in the downtown area.

All three suspects are in jail under $150,000 each.
