Shots fired causing property damage

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department received a ShotSpotter alert last night.

According to Cpl. Leslie Irving, the ShotSpotter was activated near the 600 block of South 6th Street.

Officials says shots were fired which led to 3 vehicles and a house being damaged. Numerous bullet casings were found on scene.

Cpl. Irving says there were no witnesses nor injuries. There are no leads on suspects and police are continuing to investigate the situation at this time.
