BCC Foundation dishing out big breakfast with best-selling author

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick Community College is dishing out more than just delicious, hearty breakfast food for its upcoming fundraiser that hopes to help support grants, scholarships and community outreach.

Served with a side of southern-style humor, the Brunswick Community College Foundation’s community breakfast will host best-selling and award-winning author Celia Rivenbark as the guest speaker. Now working on her eighth novel, Rivenbark is not only a novelist and local columnist, but she is also winner of the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance Nonfiction Book of the Year Award.

The BCC Foundation event hopes to raise money for their efforts in giving grants to teachers, paying for scholarships and supporting community outreach by making lectures and educational programs possible.

Tickets for the big breakfast, which kicks off at 8 a.m. April 15, are available now. Click here for more information and to purchase tickets. The breakfast will be held in the Dina E. Gore Fitness and Aquatics Center at BCC.

Rivenbark stopped by Good Morning Carolina to give us an idea of what to expect at the event. Watch the full interview for more.
