Wilmington Papa Murphy’s to donate portion of sales to help family get home

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — On Wednesday, the three Wilmington Papa Murphy’s locations plan to donate a portion of their sales to help a Pender County family get a new home.

Earlier this month, WWAY told you about a teacher, Tammy Motely, trying to help her student Aaliyah and her family get a free home that is set to be demolished in a few days. The owners of the home, who plan to rebuild, say they can have the house if they can get it moved by April 18. The cost of the project is about $7,000, Motely said.

The Papa Murphy’s locations in Landfall, Monkey Junction and on College Road will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will donate 25% of sales to the fundraiser. The owner of the Landfall location says they usually close at 8:00 p.m. but plan to be open an extra hour to help with the sales.
