CFCC officially starts search for new president
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College today officially posted a listing for its open presidency.
According to the posting, a “(d)octorate degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in education, business or public administration, personnel management, or a related field is required.”
The school is also looking for “(t)en years of increasingly responsible experience including oversight of academic and administrative support services with at least four years of experience in an administrative and supervisory capacity in a community college or similar academic setting” with a preference to someone who has worked in a North Carolina community college.
Salary is dependent on experience.
The deadline to apply is May 22. Trustees hope to have a new president in place by late summer.
The CFCC presidency has been open since January when Ted Spring resigned. He says the move came under pressure from trustees, who he has since sued.
Amanda Lee has been serving as interim president since shortly after Spring’s departure.
