Felon charged after break-in

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Deputies with the Pender County Sheriff’s Office say a felon is facing charges after he was found with guns and other items taken in a break-in.

Deputies say Gene Andrew Beck, 27, is facing charges including larceny and possession of a firearm by a felon; he’s currently in jail under a $125,000 bond.

A break-in happened in the 400 block of Ed Cowan Road and deputies say when they came to the area after 5:00 p.m. last night, Beck got out of his vehicle and ran from the scene. Deputies say Beck dropped several items including a shotgun and jewelry box.
