Bond denied for suspects in Ogden murder

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The men accused in a deadly shooting from earlier this week appeared before a judge Thursday morning.

Sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Jerry Brewer say deputies arrested Brent Thomas James Hyatt, 25, and Michael Anthony R. Malloy, 24, in connection to the on-going death investigation in the 400 block of Point View Court. In court, a judge denied bond for the two suspects. Both Hyatt and Malloy face charges including first-degree murder, assault, burglary, robbery and cruelty to animals.

Deputies say Yancey Edwards, 32, was killed along with two dogs who were also shot. Another man, Joshua Roydes, was shot in the arm and taken to the hospital.
