Mark Gottfried praises NC State signee Shaun Kirk on visit to Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Three NC State head coaches rolled into Wilmington on Friday for a Wolfpack Club meeting. Football coach Dave Doeren, men’s basketball coach Mark Gottfried and women’s basketball coach Wes Moore all sported the red and white of NC State.

On our sports on Friday we concentrated on Mark Gottfried. We asked the men’s head basketball coach about incoming NCSU basketball signee Shaun Kirk. The Whiteville High senior signed with NC State just over a week ago. “We are excited about Shaun,”  Gottfried said. “He has  chance to be a really good player. What I like about him is he gets better each and every time I see him. I like what his future can become. He really started to impress this spring. I think he can make an impact in the ACC.  I am excited he is joining us and he’ll have a chance to play his first year.”
