Water St. deck project on Tuesday’s council agenda

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Could the Water Street parking deck project finally be headed to the construction phase? A resolution to move forward with the developer is on Tuesday’s agenda.

According to city spokeswoman Malissa Talbert, council will discuss a resolution to move forward with a memo of understanding with East West Partners for the project. The project will include a city-owned parking deck with 500+ spaces (280 will be for public use), as well as residential and commercial space.

Talbert said this resolution is a non-binding agreement that maintains the city’s approval rights on design, as well as other aspects on the project.

City council meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall.
