Fmr. Fair Bluff police chief appealing drug convictions
COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Attorneys representing former Fair Bluff Police Chief Marty Lewis are working to file additional items in a formal appeal of his drug convictions.
According to court records, the appeal was filed in April 9, with a motion to extend time for the brief filed last week. Court officials say that is now due on or before May 22 to continue with the appeals process. Nicholas Woomer-Deters was named as his appellate defender.
Marty Allan Lewis was convicted in October of 2014 of trying to sell oxycodone and conspiracy to traffic opiates. He was found not guilty of possession of cocaine.
