NCDOT “Roadeo” held in New Hanover Co.
CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WWAY) — The NCDOT held a competition Wednesday morning to better train its employees on safety procedures and also provide a bit of entertainment.
The “Roadeo” featured different events, all involving NCDOT equipment in some capacity. One of the events was an obstacle course that a tractor with a mower attached to it had to maneuver through traffic cones.
Another competition included a bulldozer using precision accuracy to guide a golf ball into a PVC pipe. Crews from counties participated in today’s event, including Duplin, Sampson, Onslow, Pender, New Hanover, and Brunswick counties.
Finalists in today’s “Roadeo” move on to the statewide competition and then possibly the regional competition later in the fall.
