Mike McIntyre joining Raleigh law firm

RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — Former US Rep. Mike McIntyre has a new job.

According to a release, the former Congressman joined Poyner Spruill LLP in Raleigh as Senior Advisor and Director of Government Relations today. Rep. McIntyre will focus on government relations and economic development, the release said.

“Poyner Spruill shares my commitment to the people of North Carolina and our state’s prosperity,” McIntyre said in the release. “I look forward to opportunities to focus on many of these same important issues I’ve worked on my whole career.”

McIntyre was elected in 1996 and served nine consecutive terms representing North Carolina’s 7th Congressional District representing southeastern North Carolina. Before that, McIntyre worked as a private attorney for 15 years. He chose not to run for reelection last year.
