Pender Fire and EMS is now better equipped to save your pets

CURRIE, NC (WWAY) — The Pender County EMS and Fire department is now better equipped to rescue your pets should they be caught in a fire.

On Saturday, the Pender County EMS and Fire department held an Open House for their new Fire Station in Currie. Along with the Open House, there was a demonstration from the Invisible Fence Company, who donated 14 Pet Resuscitation Kits to the department.

Fire Chief Woody Sullivan said that these new devices will make a huge difference in the service the department is able to provide for those in the area. He said it is difficult to make human equipment work on pets, and now they will have the proper tools to do everything they can to save all loved ones in case of emergency, even those with four legs.
