OAKLAND, CA (AP) – The second game of the NBA Finals is this evening in Oakland, California, where the fans of the Golden State Warriors are hoping to see the home team go two-up in the best-of-seven series. Fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers are just hoping the team can be competitive after losing All-Star guard Kyrie (KY’-ree) Irving to a fractured left knee cap in the first game.
The Warriors won the opener in overtime, 108-100. Cleveland had two chances in the final seconds to sink the winning basket but off-balance shots by LeBron James and Iman (EE’-mahn) Shumpert missed the mark. Those misses forced the overtime in which Irving was injured.
No matter the outcome tonight, the series shifts to Cleveland for Game 3 Tuesday night.
