Police: Frustrated woman sets off sprinkler, floods ER

MORGANTON, NC (WSOC) — An emergency room in Morganton flooded with six inches of standing water after police said a woman, outraged with the waiting time, set off the sprinkler system on purpose.

The cleanup is still underway at the hospital in Morganton. Nurses and doctors scrambled to move patients after Kathy Milligan set off the sprinkler system.

She has been charged with burning and damage to personal property and molesting a fire alarm.

Police said Milligan became frustrated because of the wait times at Carolinas Healthcare System Blue Ridge in Morganton.
