Leland man sentenced for home invasion and shooting

LELAND, NC (WWAY)– A Leland man will spend up to 19 years behind bars for a home invasion and shooting that left a college student with a traumatic brain injury.

Kadeem Remal Thomas, 23, pleaded guilty to multiple charges. In January of 2013, Thomas and three other men forced their way into a home on Crimson Court, tied up the victims, stole cell phones and cash, and then shot 19-year-old Robbie McNeil.

The other three suspects pleaded guilty and were sentenced in September of 2014.
