Armed robbery reported downtown

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Investigators are looking for two men accused of robbing a man walking home from work in Downtown Wilmington.

Police say it happened in the 300-block of Red Cross Street this morning just before 1 a.m. Police say a 26-year-old male was walking home when hit from behind by two robbers. His backpack, cell phone and money were taken before the suspects ran off.

Police say one of the suspects had a handgun. He is described as a black male, thin build and about 5’9″. The other suspect was described as a heavy-set, older black male. One of the suspects also had a bandana with a skull on it.

No injuries were reported.
