Lane closures on Dan Cameron Bridge begin this morning

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Drivers can expect intermittent lane closures this week in both directions of the Dan Cameron Bridge on I-40 over the northeast Cape Fear River.

One lane will remain open to traffic in each direction of the bridge as NCDOT crews clean expansion joints there. According to a release, this bridge project is just a process that keeps the bridge’s joints functioning well.

DOT crews say though the bridge will not be closed, drivers are urged to find alternate routes during the project. The bridge closures will go on Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day.
