Man pleads guilty in unauthorized club killing
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man will spend between seven and nine years in prison after pleading guilty in a deadly shooting in 2014.
Mitchell Lewis pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury for the shooting death of Edmund Lane and assault of Danny Miller. The shooting happened in August of 2014 at a home on South 6th Street that was operating as an illegal nightclub. The shooting started as an argument between Lane and another man, Cordero Pridgen. Lewis was arrested about a month later in Washington, D.C.
First degree and attempted first degree murder charges were dismissed against Pridgen.
