Carolina Beach visitors celebrate the Fourth early with fireworks

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — People down here on Carolina Beach tonight, bringing in the Fourth of July holiday a bit early, and most people said they were most excited about the fireworks.

People are split on what is the best perk of the Fourth of July holiday, the food or the fireworks but down on Carolina Beach you didn’t have to choose.

“I think it’s a good kick off for the Fourth of July,” said Kaylee Stope.

“I think everyone else decided to come out too it’s packed. We are really excited for the fireworks,” said Alex Moore.

The Carolina Beach Boardwalk was packed with locals and visitors like Lola Waldorf.

“We are enjoying the beach and this amusement park and we are having loads of fun,” said Waldorf.

And there were good times all around for members of a youth group visiting from the Charlotte area.

“We are real excited, we’ve got like 73 kids here to watch fireworks for the Fourth of July,” said Emily Weir.
