Fireworks cause fire at Wilmington store

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — According to the Wilmington Fire Department a fire at Old Time Pottery was started by illegal consumer fireworks.

The fire was ruled accidental. WFD said there was evidence of debris from the fireworks on the roof of the store and near the back of the building. The damage was to the rubber covering the roof. There is no estimate for the cost of damage.

There was one injury reported after the fire was put out. That injury was non-life threatening.
