Man charged in Wilmington deadly hit-and-run

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police say they’ve made an arrest in a hit-and-run last week that killed a woman.

A police spokeswoman said the crash happened Thursday just after 9 p.m. in the area of South College Road and Cedar Avenue. They say Andrew John Washick, 20, hit Caroline Ashley Weis, 44, and left the scene. Weis died early Saturday morning from her injuries.

Washick is facing charges including felony hit-and-run.
