Woman in custody after early Sunday morning shooting

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A woman is in custody after a shooting around 3 a.m. Sunday.

It happened on the 100 block of South 11th St. WPD Cpl. Leslie Irving said officers found a 27-year-old man in a house with a gun shot injury. He was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Nyasia Baskerville is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injuries and discharging a firearm in city limits.

She was transported to New Hanover County Jail. Baskerville is being held under a $25,000 secured bond.
