Weather delays new traffic light

BELVILLE, NC (WWAY) — The rainy past few days caused a delay in the activation of a new stoplight in the Leland area.

A NCDOT spokeswoman said the new light at the intersection of NC 133 and the newly-realigned Blackwell Road in Belville was supposed to be turned on flash today, but the rain delayed that.

Crews hope to have the stoplight working next week. They have to keep it at flashing for a week.
