Man, woman robbed at Wilmington business

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are looking for the man who robbed a man and woman at a Wilmington business after hours.

Police said it happened just before 11 p.m. at the Nutrition in Motion at 1505 Medical Center Drive. They said a man, 49, and woman, 42, were at the business cleaning the facility when the man was approached by the suspect in the parking lot. Police said after taking his wallet, the robber forced the man into the business and took the woman’s purse. The male victim was then hit by the suspect’s pistol before the suspect ran off, according to investigators.

Police brought in a K9 unit to assist in tracking the robber, but they were unable to find the suspect. The victims described the suspect as a black male in his 20s with an average build and wearing a dark shirt and jean shorts.
