Road work extended near Shallotte

SHALLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — The NCDOT said road work in Brunswick County has been extended due to weather.

The work is at the intersection of US 17 and US 17 Business, south of Shallotte. Crews said the work has been extended to September 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Crews are working on final paving of the roadway and intersections. Once the work is over, they said it will improve traffic flow by extending the left turn lane.
