Bladen Co. Schools email linked to Ashley Madison site

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A spokeswoman with the Bladen County Schools said school leaders are looking into a report that a school email domain was used on the Ashley Madison website.

“We are able to verify that the domain does belong to Bladen County Schools,” spokeswoman Valerie Newton said. “However, this is not an indication that an actual employee of the school system created the account.”

Newton said the school system’s network has filtering in place to detect access attempts from unauthorized sites. She said they are monitoring their filtering system and online activity.

The website, which promotes extramarital affairs, was recently hacked and details were released about the millions of people registered with the website. Reality star Josh Duggar was among the names leaked by the hackers.
