Man charged, another hospitalized after overnight shooting
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — One man was taken to the hospital while another was arrested after a shooting overnight in Wilmington.
Wilmington Police spokeswoman Linda Rawley says officers responded to a shooting at the Crazy Horse Bar at 5671 Market Street around 2:37 a.m. She says a friend took the victim Thomas Lee Weeden II, 36, to Cape Fear Memorial Hospital. While there is no information on his specific injuries, Rawley says Weeden is expected to survice.
Police arrested Dion Mott, 43, at the scene and charged him with assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to kill. Witnesses say the two men got into an argument over a woman, Rawley says.
