Man pleads guilty in elderly man’s death after being punched

WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — A Wilmington man was sentenced to up to two years in prison for the 2013 death of an elderly man during a heroin deal in Houston Moore.

Rodney Seager Bradley, 23, pleaded guilty Sept. 25 to one count of involuntary manslaughter in the killing of Floyd Henry Jr., 86, a World War II veteran from Leland. Bradley was sentenced to 1.25 to 2.25 years in prison.

According to the New Hanover County District Attorney’s Office, Henry was punched once by Bradley during a dispute Bradley was having with the Leland man’s grandson Eric L. Henry Jr., 25.
