WPD: Driver charged with hit and run after hitting building

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Leland woman is charged with hit and run after police say she crashed into a Wilmington apartment building early Monday morning.

Investigators say Shatiqua Bowser, 22, said she dropped her cell phone, leaned over to get it and hit the gas pedal.

Police say she did not give them a reason for why she left the scene at Cypress Grove Apartments.
