Jeff Gordon Chevrolet ‘locks up’ for muscular dystrophy
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Jeff Gordon Chevrolet is raising money to send kids with muscular dystrophy to summer camp by “locking up” community members.
Today was the 15th annual Lock-up fundraising event. Executive Director Melissa Sinclair said community members spend the day in a ‘mock’ jail to help raise money for 65 children in Wilmington with muscular dystrophy.
“To send kids from New Hanover County to MDA Summer Camp, so it’s a very local cause and a very local initiative,” Sinclair said. “Many of the folks in this room have had the opportunity to meet some of our summer campers.”
The event lasted until 4:00 p.m. If you missed the event, do not worry you can still help out.
