Independence Mall adds wounded warrior parking spots

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Independence Mall is now offering veterans prime parking spots to honor our nations servicemen and women. 

The mall added multiple wounded warrior parking signs at the three main entrances.

Mall spokeswoman says these signs serve an extremely important purpose as they reserve parking spots for veterans who have been wounded in combat.

Approximately 1.8 million purple heart medals have been awarded since its inception in 1932.
