Laney and New Hanover to square off in 4-A east finals for soccer
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Call em road Warriors. New Hanover for the second year in a row will play in the 4-A east title game for boys soccer despite playing all four state playoff games on the road this month. New Hanover held off Cardinal Gibbons 2-1 on Saturday night in Raleigh. Moss Lewis and Shaffer Lisle scored goals for New Hanover. Roman Lewis had an incredible game at the keeper position for the Wildcats. New Hanover will play Laney in the 4-A east finals on Tuesday.
Laney shutout Broughton 2-0 on Saturday night in Wilmington. David Dailey and Tristan Nelson scored for the Buccaneers. Stephen Hagewood was flawless at the keeper position. Laney will host New Hanover in the 4-A east finals. This means a Wilmington team is guaranteed to be in the 4-A state finals next weekend in Raleigh on November 21.
