Wilmington Police investigating fatal motel shooting Sunday
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating an early evening shooting at a motel that left one Wilmington man dead.
A spokeswoman said police responded to the Carolinian Inn at 2916 Market Street around 5:42 p.m. Witnesses said they heard a disturbance from one of the rooms, then multiple gun shots.
When police arrived they found a man lying on the floor of one of the motel rooms with multiple gunshot wounds. Police said he was later pronounced dead at New Hanover Regional Center. The name of the victim will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
Police are looking at possible suspects, however no arrests have been made at this time. We will release new information as it becomes available.
