Mayfaire planning to expand, names popular retail brands in docs

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Mayfaire Town Center, a popular shopping location in the Wilmington area, is planning to expand.

According to documents filed with the City of Wilmington on Monday, the project will add several new stores. The plans show a 24,000 square-foot, two-story store with the label “H&M.” If built, that store would be on the right section of the development near the movie theater. Other stores around it are less than 10,000 square feet. A West Elm store is also listed in that area.

On the left side of the development, also near the theater, stores at around 10,000 square feet and smaller are set out in the plans, including a West Marine, Lane Bryant and Hot Topic.

A spokeswoman representing the owners of Mayfaire, CBL Associates Properties, Inc., declined to comment on some of the names listed in the plans. She said they would comment when a lease was signed.
