Wilmington police investigating homicide Sunday

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are looking for the suspect responsible for a homicide Sunday.

A spokeswoman said it happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. today. Police responded to the intersection of Stewart Circle and Emory Street after a Shotspotter alert was activated. Dispatchers then received a call that an individual had been shot.

When police arrived they found a man lying in the roadway. Officers performed CPR, EMTs pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The identity of the victim is unknown at this time.
