Police: Man shot in face, another in pelvis in parking lot

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating another Sunday shooting that they say sent two people to the hospital.

Police say it all started at Sam Food Mart in the 4200 block of Princess Place Drive. That’s where they say they received a ShotSpotter alert around 8:30 p.m.

When officers got to the scene, they found a man had been shot in the pelvis. Officers also found a vehicle crashed into the building.

While police were investigating, they found another victim nearby in front of the Market Street Taco Bell who had been shot in the face.

Police say the shooting started with an argument in the parking lot of the store when someone drew a gun. Officers say they believe two groups shot at each other.

Both victims have been transported to the hospital. Police say both men’s conditions are non-life-threatening.

Dispatch also said a ShotSpotter alert was activated in that area for two rounds.
