New Hanover Co. driver’s education classes overbooked
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County School Board says its driver’s education classes are overbooked for the Spring.
Deputy Superintendent Rick Holliday said there were some issues with the schools third party vendor during enrollment. He said so many people tried to enroll at once that the system could not handle it.
There are 17 people over the limit for Hoggard High School, 18 for Laney, and 14 for New Hanover. The biggest issue comes for Ashley High School. Holliday said 56 students are enrolled over the limit.
Holliday said they have extended hours for drivers to handle the overflow. He said all of the parents for the Ashley High School students have been contacted and offered a full refund. He said students are not guaranteed time with a driver though.
Holliday also said students that are enrolled for the Spring will be guaranteed a spot for Summer classes if they wish to be refunded.
