Leland police investigating house fire as domestic dispute
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Leland police are investigating a house fire in Brunswick Forest this weekend as a domestic issue.
Lieutenant Jeremy Humphries said it happened Saturday night on Cresthill Court. He said crews were on scene putting out the fire when the suspect returned to the scene.
Officers charged William James Kelim II, 34 at the scene. Humphries said the fire may have been a result of a domestic dispute between Kelim and his wife. A third party who is not related to the couple owns the house.
No one was injured in the fire.
Humphries said Kelim is charged with first degree arson, breaking and entering and communicating threats, but he could face more charges after the investigation is complete.
