Cape Fear Chordsmen take the show on the road
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Four members of the Cape Fear Chordsmen took to the road today to bring their tunes to folks in medical facilities around Wilmington.
We met up with the crooners at Cape Fear Memorial Hospital where they were singing love songs to patients and staff. It’s an annual event for the singers, but this year the performance is special. One of their former members passed away late last year, so this year they are bringing the show to places he received treatment.
“My dad had passed away in December, and so I wanted to make sure that we went to some of the provider agencies where he had received service and kinda give back to the staff and give them kudos that our family really appreciated the kind and excellent coverage that they provided him in his last year of life,” said Jim Bader, one of the Chordsmen.
The quartet said you never know what reaction you might get from people. SOmetimes folks get emotional when they hear their songs and sometimes they smile from ear to ear.
