New Hanover Co. Sheriff’s Office investigating death

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death at a house on Sunday.

Lt. Jerry Brewer with the Sheriff’s office says deputies were dispatched to 6400 Sentry Oaks Dr. just before 1:30 p.m. for check welfare. Upon arrival deputies entered the home and found a woman dead from a gunshot wound.  Deputies secured the home and detectives are still investigating.

There is no evidence that anyone in the neighborhood is in any danger.
