Laney High School’s principal receives new position

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – Laney High School will soon begin searching for a new principal.

The New Hanover County School District says longtime principal, Al O’Briant, has been named Director of Secondary Instruction for the Instruction Division.  He will remain at Laney until the end of the year.

The district said it will begin searching for a new principal once O’Briant finishes up at Laney, adding, “It will be a tough job … Mr. Ois top notch.”

Laney’s Athletic Director says O’Briant was named principal in 2007.
