Sheriff’s Office investigating after person fires shots into occupied vehicle in Chadbourn

CHADBOURN, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a person fired shots into an occupied vehicle on Saturday night.

Officials say the incident took place just before 11:00 p.m. on Haynes Lennon Highway.

Two adults and a juvenile were traveling in their vehicle when they say another vehicle came up behind them and started shooting.

No one was injured in the crime.

The investigation remains ongoing.
