Three people charged with animal cruelty in Brunswick County
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Three people have been arrested on animal cruelty charges.
Addison Lanair White, Jr., 36, of Winnabow is charged with seven counts of cruelty to animals.
Jonathan Michael Young, 21, of Shallotte and Kaylie Aryssa Murrell, 23, of Bolivia, are each charged with six counts of cruelty to animals.
The arrests stem from tips and complaints from members of the community.
Sheriff Chism is reminding people of the importance of responsible pet ownership.
Animals require nourishment, access to clean drinking water, and adequate shelter. If you are unable to provide these, the Sheriff’s Office says there is no shame in surrendering your animal to another loving home or to the shelter where the pet will have a chance to be adopted.
