Sawmill Café hosts ‘Tip a Cop’

MONKEY JUNCTION, NC (WWAY)– Some law enforcement officers spent the day giving back to their community at a New Hanover County restaurant. 

The Sawmill Café at Monkey Junction had members of the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office serving guests Monday from 7 am until 2 pm.  

Deputies were taking orders, bussing tables, and refilling drinks, all for tips.  

100 percent of their tips earned will go to the Special Olympics, which supports more than 40-thousand athletes across the state.
