Man hurt in Wednesday morning shooting

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — After a series of reported shootings with no injuries, an incident Wednesday morning left one man hurt.

According to a tweet from Wilmington Police Department, the shooting happened in the 1100-block of S. 7th street around 10:45 a.m. Police said one male was injured but didn’t specify the injury.

Police said a black male suspect was last seen headed west toward 6th Street.

This is the sixth reported shooting in the city in the past few days.
