Vehicle crashes into Leland Harris Teeter

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — A vehicle crashed into the Harris Teeter in Leland Friday afternoon.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. at the store located off Highway 17.

Leland Police said an elderly man behind the wheel had a medical episode, and he passed out with his foot on the gas pedal.

There were no injuries, though the driver’s wife insisted he go to the hospital to be checked out.

No charges have been filed at this time.
