NC Azalea Festival holds 2nd Annual Jingle in the Park

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Dozens of families came out to Halyburton Park for the North Carolina Azalea Festival’s 2nd annual Jingle in the Park on Saturday morning.

Dozens of families came out to enjoy arts and crafts, face painting, singing, dancing, and pictures with Santa.

Along with volunteers from the festival, members of Friends of the Battleship North Carolina and the US Forest s=Service were there to teach young children.

Alison Baringer is the executive director of the Azalea Festival.

She said festival organizers enjoy bringing fun to the community, even outside of its normal dates.

“It means so much to us. You know the Azalea Festival obviously is in April, but we like to have events all year around to continue the festival spirit, let people know about festival events coming up,” Baringer said.

A portion of proceeds from the event benefitted the Cape Fear Volunteer Center and Big Buddy.
